The plot is delicately and fascinatingly interwoven into the world. Multiplayer forms a core part of the experience and carries flavourful weight in the world. It's base game feels more complete to me than Dark Souls 1 or Bloodborne even with their DLCĭark Souls is conceptually far more fleshed out. I'd go as far as to say that this is the most complete and well rounded game From has ever released. Maybe the Shura ending feels that way, but all of the others feel very much complete. It's not bad, but it's far from a standout moment of the game. Ashina castle has far more attention to detail than the climactic area of the game.Īnd from a gameplay standpoint, there's three gimmick bosses, a gimmick enemy in the instakill eels, and the insanely cheesy rock kicking enemies. The skybox looks terrible and there's a lack of detail that really lets it down. It's visually anticlimactic - it's basically just a big lake, when it should have been an anor londo moment. Wait, what?
